Music Ministry
St. Peter’s Choir programs are affiliated with the RSCM America (Royal School of Church Music), committing us to uphold the highest standards in church music. RSCM America’s motto is: “sing to God with spirit and understanding.” Organist and Choirmaster Randy Krum:

Youth Choir
Youth Choir sings once a month alternating between the traditional and contemporary Sunday worship services, employing the Voice for Life curriculum of the RSCM. Youth Choir meets each Wednesday afternoon from 5:00 to 6:00 pm during the school year, except during the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. During rehearsals the choristers learn correct posture, vocal techniques, diction and music reading. They learn about the church year and practice anthems for the various church seasons and feast days. Additionally they learn parts of the liturgy and hymns, so that they are able to participate fully in the worship service. Boys and girls in grades one through eight are welcome to join at anytime.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is a four-part ensemble of mixed voices which sings at our traditional 8:30 am service. We rehearse Thursday evenings September through May from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. June, July and August rehearsals are on the first Thursday of the month, although the choir continues to sing every Sunday. Guided by RSCM principles, the Choir strives for excellence in diction, vocal technique, intonation, and all elements which contribute to an effective music ministry. Anthems and hymns are selected to complement the lectionary. Choral works from the Renaissance to present day enrich the Choir’s repertoire. The Choir welcomes new singers at anytime.
Worship Band
The St. Peter’s worship band is a group of men, women, and youth who desire to see God glorified through music. Each person uses their gifts to create the highest quality music which is edifying to both God and the body of Christ. Our goal is to see God become greater and ourselves become less as we lead people to the throne room of Christ. We play a range of hymns and contemporary songs using a variety of instruments; the band typically consists of guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and the occasional horn. Play an instrument? We would love to have you join us as we worship the Lord.
Acolytes
Acolytes are assistants who assist the priest during worship services and holy communion. The Chancel Book outlines the duties and terminology that support the liturgy.
