Daughters of the King
The Daughters of the King is an Order for women communicants of the Episcopal Church. Founded in 1885, DOK members undertake a Rule of Life incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. A daughter pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service and evangelism strengthening the spiritual life of the parish. We pray daily for those in need and our service projects include Ronald McDonald House, Sanford Crisis Pregnancy Center & Prayer Shawls.Daughters of the King meet regularly on the second Tuesday every month. Anyone interested in joining may contact Miriam Weston at 407-444-1098.
Ronald McDonald House of Orlando
The purpose of the Ronald McDonald House of Orlando is to provide a “home-away-from-home” for these families in medical crisis. Before the Ronald McDonald Houses, being with a hospitalized child meant parents were sleeping in their cars or in chairs in the waiting room, eating out of vending machines, or bearing the expense of impersonal hotel rooms. You can become involved through the Daughters of the King.
